CALL FOR PAPERS

OBJECTIVES

The Workshop on Network and Service Operations and Management (WGRS), promoted by the the Brazilian Computer Society, aims at promoting discussions of research and relevant activities on network/service operations and management, increasing the synergy between academic and industry professionals working on this area. The workshop also constitutes a forum to present and discuss solutions that have been currently employed by service providers and users of network management systems.

The XI Workshop on Network and Service Operations and Management (WGRS 2006) will be held in conjunction with the XXIV Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks (SBRC 2006) on May 30, 2006 in Curitiba, Brazil.

TOPICS OF INTEREST

Authors are invited to submit papers describing research projects, experimental results and recent developments related, but not limited, to the following topics:

  • Accounting and billing
  • Autonomic management of networks and services
  • Configuration
  • Distributed management
  • Grid computing management
  • Management architectures
  • Management information modeling
  • Management of mobile, wireless, and sensor networks
  • Management platforms
  • Monitoring, event handling and faults
  • Optical networks management
  • Performance and quality of service management
  • Policy based management
  • Security, privacy, and isolation
  • Self-management and self-configuration
  • Service and application management
  • Web-service and peer-to-peer based management

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

Papers must be submitted electronically through the GEMS Conference Management System web site ( http://soyuz.metropoa.tche.br/sbrc2006_wgrs). They must be written in Portuguese or English and contain at most 12 pages, including abstract, figures, diagrams, references, etc. The paper must be prepared using the template available in the Brazilian Computer Society web page (http://www.sbc.org.br/index.php?language=1&subject=60&content=downloads). The file must be necessarily in the postscript format (use generic postscript) or PDF (Portable Document Format).

Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, if accepted.

IMPORTANT DATES

Full Paper Due: April 9th, 2006
Notification of Acceptance: April 27th, 2006
Final Versions Due: May 2nd, 2006
